Cllr Robert Johnstone (Chair)

I have been a Councillor for over four years and am currently Chairman of the Council. The growth, in terms of numbers of houses, roads and people has been phenomenal and will continue for a few years yet. I aim to ensure that Myland gets the best deal from this growth.

Retired employee benefits specialist, occasional astronomer. I like pubs, the opposite sex and reading.

 
Cllr Angus Allan

I was born, raised and educated in Colchester. I live in Mile End with my fiancee and our two children. I am Managing Director of a Colchester based dessert manufacturing business.

 
Cllr Richard Agate

I have lived in Myland since 1932 and in Posford Court fot twenty-seven years. I formerly worked at Severalls Hospital for 36 years.

I have lived in Myland for 33 years and have been a Parish Councillor for 4 years. I am especially concerned about the lack of community facilities in Myland.

I have lived in the Colchester district for 37 years, and in Myland for the last 3 years. This is my first term as a councillor for Myland East.

 
Cllr Liz Gray

I have lived in Mile End since 1989 and joined the council in 2003, this follows a long tradition of getting involved with organizations that are trying to improve the rights of ordinary people. My passions are reading, travel, current affairs and music.

Semi handsome, energetic, caring and passionate Councillor who wants the best for all Parish Council customers. I look after Myland East and will be doing my absolute best for all residents along with the other excellent Parish councillors.

I have lived in Colchester since 1980. Among other things I work with Colbea (Colchester Business Enterprise Agency)as a Business Adviser. As one part of my work with Myland Parish Council I am hoping to engage the Myland Business Community in working together to form a vibrant local business forum.

 
Cllr Neil King JP

I have lived in Colchester all my life, attending Philip Morant Secondary School 1994-2001. I am a qualified barrister-at-law and am currently working for the Home Office. I am involved in the Finance and General Purpose Working Group am Chair of the Local Development Framework Working Group.

Cllr Dr John Parker

I have lived in Myland for the last forty years and have been retired from practise for the previous eighteen. I do not think that one should be idle in retirement and it is my wish to put something back into the community which has supported me over the years.

I am trying to put back into Myland what I have taken out over the last 34 years, particularly with reference to the damage that Colchester Borough Council are doing to our environment.

 
Cllr John Sutcliffe

A resident of Myland for 37 years, I have been a councillor since 2003, chair the Planning Monitoring Working Group and sit on the Planning Committee, as well as on the Street Care Strategy; Community; and Communications Groups.

I have lived in Myland for almost 20 years. I have been involved in local affairs since 1999 when I was elected as one of the first Parish Councillors for Myland Parish Council.

Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer: Helen Harris

I have been Clerk since 23rd October 2006 and am currently studying for CiLCA (Certificate in Local Council Administration). On successfully completing this course I will be a qualified Clerk, which will help towards the Parish Council obtaining Quality Status. I attended Myland Primary School and then on to The Gilberd School in Colchester.
